My Politics
I thought I would describe my personal political platform. It’s rather short and to the point, so if you were expecting my typical windbag, sorry to disappoint. This is hardly original; it should be recognizable even though the source was not ever a political entity:
 Peace, be still
Blessed are the poor in spirit
 Blessed are they that mourn
 Blessed are the meek
Blessed are they which hunger after righteousness
 Blessed are the merciful
 Blessed are the peacemakers
Blessed are they which are persecuted for Jesus’ sake
Blessed are the pure in heart
You are the salt of the earth and the light of the world
 Think before you act
 Love your enemies
The Lord’s peace left with you, neither be troubled nor afraid
I guarantee there is no more effective platform to solve our social ills. None. Before you knee-jerk a reaction that this is passé, stop and think of what problem we face that is not solved by using these principles. I’ve spent years in this analysis and have not yet found one problem that is not resolved by adopting these attitudes. The relevance of Jesus Christ in our time has more impact now than all the computers and cell phones and i-pods and weapons of destruction and all the learning that the internet can contain and all the opinions of men who have re-thought and regurgitated limited potential thinking disguised in self-help manuals and psycho-babble halls of academia. It has always been and always will be the best politics of any age.
